South Padre

Project Description

Given hurricane-resistant codes, limited plumbing and electrical relocations and only 4 directives, this remodel optimized the tiny 2800/sf footprint into a spacious, and luxurious Bayside Paradise. 1) Incorporate trophy elk mounts, 2) Large flat-screen TV’s in key rooms, 3) Match the great room sofa color to the UT Longhorn Burnt Orange, and 4) Keep the floor to ceiling chevron wood wall in Living room. Aqua Stained-Glass backsplash tiles resemble fish scales within the Kitchen. Nautical nickel-plated sconces and floating shelves increase the openness of this Bachelor’s 2nd home. Calcutta Gold Marble countertops crown crisp white lacquered cabinets and Caribbean blue sea grass wallpaper adds textural depth and weight to this airy, outside-in space. The Family Room reflects the Owner’s love of UT, game trophies, and the outdoors, while whimsical art and accessories unite the traditional-turned-modern furnishings and design. Sumptuous tile details throughout the spaces elevate the finish aesthetics. Sparkling marble mosaic columns and stairs flow between levels, while bold Moroccan-inspired wallpaper and Sisal carpet escort you via elevator. Prussian blue tiles and a freestanding travertine “wave” pedestal freshen the Powder Room, and mirrors and bath vanities throughout claim traditional bones in a playful finish, setting the mood for fun and relaxation. The Captain’s Quarters custom silk bedframe integrates the sportsman’s trophy elephant hide, and elegant antler-like lighting for reading. Luxurious wool and silk carpets intersect mahogany travertine at the master bath. Honey onyx tiles showcase the designer’s custom silver leaf vanity displaying the owner’s treasured finds. Finessing cramped, old bones with exquisite attention to design detail reincarnated this Bayside condo into a spacious, modernized escape.
