Gingerwood, a family operated Austin design studio established in 2010, quickly transitioned into a turn-key Design + Build firm providing premier design services with in-house top-quality general contractors. We built Gingerwood on the belief that there’s a big difference between a house and a home. That’s why we sweat the details and take the time to understand the needs of every person (and pet) that we work with.
We believe that a sense of home is foundational to human happiness and that every home deserves to be beautiful - and can be. Gingerwood Adorn, our online shop is driven by this belief, offering a curated collection of furniture, lighting, decor and more. Adorn fosters a sense of simplicity and beauty to the timeless collection, making any house feel more like home.
Meet Amanda
A native Austinite, Amanda Stephenson has dedicated her heart and soul in leading Gingerwood since 2010, as the region’s foremost luxury Design + Build firm. Amanda values each client relationship and project, and disciplined processes while pushing the design boxes.
As Creative Director, Amanda oversees all design projects to ensure they are a reflection of the client while incorporating the Gingerwood aesthetic. Amanda and her growing team focus on the fine details, delivering beautifully curated and innovative spaces.
Family is important to Amanda, she is fortunate to work alongside her husband, Brett, her father, Joe and mother, Andrea. Counting her blessings each day!
Last year, Amanda’s entrepreneurial heart saw a need within her community - homeowners, having a desire to furnish their homes with chic products utilized within Gingerwood homes. Amanda launched Adorn an online destination to empower others to elevate their home, with a curated collection of furniture & home goods. Adorn allows design-lovers to evaluate their own homes.
Amanda lives in Austin, Texas (go horns!) with her husband, their three children, Kinley + Easton + Bennett. In Amanda’s free time she can be found at the baseball fields with her boys, catching a yoga class with a friend, searching for the perfect antique rug, and scrolling for the latest trends.

With more than 50 years of combined industry experience, Amanda and her team have created beautifully innovated spaces for prominent clients including Fortune 500 leaders, oil investors, venture capitalists, professional athletes, celebrities, and urban families to customize and personalize their homes.
